Why We Built DevGate – A Dashboard Widget for Developers

As developers, we spend a lot of time in the WordPress admin — and so do our clients. But we noticed something: there was no simple way to leave our mark on the dashboard.

We wanted a way to:

  • Show our clients that we built their site
  • Provide quick access to support contact information
  • Make sure our branding stays visible — without being intrusive

That’s why we built DevGate.

What DevGate does

  • Displays your logo, company name, and tagline
  • Shows your support email and website link
  • Locks itself at the top-left of the dashboard — no drag, no close
  • Works entirely locally — no external fonts, no tracking

DevGate is free, open source, and available now. If you’re a freelancer or agency, it’s a simple way to build trust with your clients.
